This particular RMiG-19 was flown to Taiwan by communist defector Yuanyan Fan, departing from Fujians Shadi Air Base and landing at Tainan Air Force Base on July 7, 1977. Manufactured by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation of the mainland China, the RMiG-19 is equipped with two RD-QB axial-flow turbojet engines, each with 7,166 lb of thrust. It has a maximum speed of 780 knots (1,444 km/h) and a service ceiling of 56,400 feet (17,190 m). The RMiG-19 is capable of carrying two 30 mm caliber cannons and one Hangjia Model 13-40 aerial camera for photographic reconnaissance missions.
